Zach Pinerio
Zach Pinerio is a woodworker known for unique functional pieces made entirely from wood he both mills and turns in his workshop on Chappaquiddick, a small island off of Edgartown, Massachusetts on Martha's Vineyard. Having studied environmental science at the University of Vermont, Pinerio went on to apprentice for eight years with a local cabinet maker, before working for the renowned wood bowl maker, Andrew Pearce. In Chappaquiddick he built himself a workshop out of an old shipping container. There, he thoroughly acquaints himself with the provenance of each finished piece that exits the shop—a whole tree is often his starting point. Pinerio takes pleasure in the slowness of the process of milling, coring, drying, sanding and finishing. All of his works are made from salvaged, sustainable, furniture grade local hardwood and are intended for daily use.
