Cedric Mitchell

Cedric Mitchell is a Los Angeles-based glass artist and designer known for his vibrant, postmodern-inspired hand-blown glass that fuses functional objects with sculptural presence. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, he first immersed himself in creative culture through music as a local hip-hop artist before discovering glass, a shift that led him to pursue the medium professionally and relocate to California. Mitchell’s work is distinguished by bold color palettes, graphic patterning, and geometric forms that draw from Memphis design, pop art, and midcentury influences, reimagining traditional glassware as playful, contemporary design. Through his studio, Cedric Mitchell Design, he produces vessels, lighting, and limited-edition pieces while also engaging in residencies and workshops to deepen his technical approach to color, form, and technique. In addition to his studio practice, Mitchell is committed to mentorship and education, using teaching, public talks, and community programs to expand access to glassblowing and support a more diverse next generation of makers in the field.
