Our luxury alpaca-cashmere throws are made with the fur of alpacas sustainably-reared by the British Alpaca Fashion Company, a farm and mill situated in the lush hills of the Exmoor National Park in Somerset County.

Designed by Permanent Collection, these super-soft, cozy throws have been woven exclusively for us using a state-of-the-art Japanese Shima Seiki knitwear machine. Made from 80% British alpaca and 20% Mongolian cashmere spun in Italy, the beautiful natural range of browns, tans, grays and creams reflect the incredible of variety of colors found in the coats of the herd.

First introduced to Britain in the 19th century, alpacas were imported from Peru by Edward Smith Stanley (1775–1851), the 13th Earl of Derby and an eccentric naturalist who collected a zoo’s worth of wildlife specimens at his menagerie at Knowsley, outside of Liverpool. Because alpacas have soft, padded feet and gentle grazing habits that preserve root systems, their impact on the environment is much less damaging than that of most livestock. Generating four times the fur of cashmere goats and consuming far less water, alpacas produce some of the most eco-friendly fibers on the planet.

We recommend hand washing our alpaca throws in cold water with mild liquid detergent; do not bleach. Air-dry flat; do not wring or twist. Do not put in dryer as heat can damage alpaca fibers. You may also choose to eco-dry clean your blanket but make sure to indicate that it is made of alpaca & cashmere and not wool.

Shipping & Returns

SHIPPING AND RETURNS POLICY

Permanent Collections offers $15 UPS Ground shipping on all U.S. domestic orders. We also offer UPS 2-day Air for $25 and UPS Next Day Air for $50, for U.S. domestic orders. International shipping to Canada and Europe is a flat rate of $50. Shipping to all other international locations is a flat rate of $75.

Orders are processed the following business day, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Orders received on weekends and holidays will be processed the next business day. Availability of products is not guaranteed. If you have ordered an item that is not available or that is delayed, we will notify you via email or telephone. When your order is processed, you will receive a shipment confirmation email with the shipping tracking number. Residents of California will pay state tax on their purchase (8.75%). Orders will be shipped via UPS.

Expected arrival date for international orders is approximately 10-14 days from the order date. For international orders, a customs duty will be charged to you depending upon the country in which you reside and the cost of the product you have ordered. Permanent Collection is NOT responsible for payment of this duty. Please consult an online duties calculator before placing your order, as this charge could amount to a few hundred additional dollars for which you will be liable. Orders will be shipped via UPS.

HOW TO RETURN

Should you wish to return an item, it must be in unused, unworn, unwashed, unaltered, and in undamaged condition and returned within 14 days of purchase. All returns must include original packaging: any boxes, hangers, garment bags, and other packaging materials.

Should you wish to return an item(s), please contact us at customerservice@permanentcollection.com. We will then email you a return UPS shipping label and a return packing slip for you to mark with the reason(s) for your return. Repackage the item(s) you would like to return and place the prepaid UPS return label on the outside of the box you’ll ship back to us at:

Drop off your shipment at a UPS Store (find your nearest store at www.ups.com) or at any UPS facility.

As soon as we receive your return, we’ll let you know in an e-mail and make sure that your refund is processed within 7 days. It may take up to 14 business days from the date we process your refund for it reflect on your original form of payment.

We reserve the right to deny refunds if the merchandise returned does not meet our return policy requirements.
