Clay Roasting Tray

This clay roasting tray is a modern take on a traditional flameware cooking dish—one of our favorite foolproof and truly delicious methods for roasting. Wheel-spun by Andrew Kontrabecki in Sebastopol, CA, our version incorporates a classic circular shape, with refined, rounded handles, straight sides, and smooth ink-colored glaze. Its rim and sides have a consistent thickness providing even heat distribution; while its ridged outer and inner edges embody a handmade quality that ensures perfect caramelization and color.

Flameware's unique ability to withstand sudden temperature changes without cracking makes it an optimal choice for high-heat cooking. An often temperamental material to work with, Andrew is a master of his craft, frequently working with chefs on custom cookware. A beautiful piece on its own, this tray requires no additional servingware and looks easy and elegant served straight from the oven.

Made exclusively for Permanent Collection by Andrew Kontrabecki in Petaluma, CA.
